GI activities started with the foundation of Investinženjering d.o.o. in 1989. – a private company offering engineering services in the construction sector. In 1992 Studio A d.o.o. was established by Investinženjering and a year later Tower 151 Architects – Zagreb d.o.o., bringing architects and urban developers to the group.

After a very successful cooperation with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GTZ) in designing, managing and supervising the construction of 50.000m2 dwelling settlements for war refugees in early 1990”s, GI has managed to establish cooperation with many foreign clients and consultants with whom it has closely cooperated on projects in Croatia and in the region.

As the first major recognition of the excellence of our services, in 1995 Importanne Centre – the first shopping centre in Zagreb, was erected under the project and construction management by GI.

In response to the industry growth supported by the large infrastructure projects in Croatia, in the first decade of the new millennium the GI companies continuously expanded to new areas of professional expertise.

Since 2002 GI has been supervising construction of several sections of Zagreb – Split – Dubrovnik Highway.

In 2006 we received the first award in the international competition for the preliminary design of the largest telescope in the world – ELT Telescope Project on the Canary Islands (partnership with The Lund University).

In 2007 Hypo Alpe-Adria Center, the largest high-rise construction project in Croatia with the total area of 86.000m2, was completed under the project and construction management and supervision by GI.

In 2008 we opened office in Zadar, which gave us a strong regional foothold and an ability to better serve our clients in Dalmatia. Our successful development and growth enabled us to invest in a 14.700m2 property development project, which was completed in 2010. Today Tuškanova/Banjavčićeva complex also hosts our new offices.

Over the period of more than 20 years working as engineering consultants, we have always been striving for excellence. We have achieved it through continuous investments in training of our people and in building close relationships with the best international and local partners.
