GI consortium awarded most points

International consortium, Studio AA Chernikhov with Tower 151 Architects – GI made their final presentation at the International Seminar No6 as part of the Competition for the Development of Moscow Agglomeration, on 22-23 August 2012.
After processing the presented materials the following results were obtained:

– URBAN DESIGN ASSOCIATES – 7,7 points
– LLC Architectural Office “Ostozhenka” – 7,7 points

– FSBI “TSNIIP Urban Planning” RAASN – 7,2 points
– RICARDO BOFILL – 6,9 points
– L’AUC – 6,5 points
– OMA (Office for Metropolitan Architecture) – 6,4 points
The Protocol International Seminar No6 was attended by 360 people in total, 65 representatives for 9 project teams and 26 experts.
The concept proposed that the Moscow Authorities should consider redeveloping the abundant brownfield sites and other available infill spaces within the existing city boundaries as a vanguard to the City’s development. We highlighted large areas occupied by goods railways and disused industrial sites (approximately 18% of the land surface of Central Moscow from Soviet times), as prime areas for regeneration and expansion, as well as a re-thinking of transport networks to alleviate pressure on existing systems.
