Architecture of commercial building

The Zagreb Puppet Theatre is located in a town block between Tomislavov square – Ulica baruna Trenka street – Gajeva street – Starčevićev square in Zagreb. Before the reconstruction the theatre had inadequate stage of about 4 meters without offstage.

By annex construction and theatre reconstruction the previous storages were used for stage widening and building of offstage making actually two theatres: puppet theatre with marionette bridge and all necessary equipment, and the drama theatre, as the new stage of proper depth with offstage allows performance of all kinds of production.

The auditorium got the amphitheatric inclination with the visitors coatroom underneath and the entrance areas became the foyers. And there is also the small auditorium.

Previously neglected and not connected yards become the public spaces.

The facade design is one of the block, it uses the image of back stage playing with solutions of necessary elements, fire staircases, galleries and like.
