Join venture partnership

GI as a joint venture partner to Royal HaskoningDHV Nederland B.V. signed a contract with Port of Rijeka Authority for Supervision of Works during Construction of the Zagreb Pier Container Terminal, which is financed within the Rijeka Gateway Project Additional financing No. 47151-HR, IBRD loan No. 7638 – HR.

The Zagreb container terminal is being developed by the Port of Rijeka Authority (hereinafter called „The Client“) to take advantage of the deep water and sheltered berth existing at the Western edge of the Port of Rijeka. This will allow the Client to attract 5th and 6th generation vessels and supplement the extended container handling capacity of the Brajdica Terminal. It is the Client’s intention to develop the Zagreb Pier Container Terminal in a phased manner, with an initial Phase 1 length of 400m, expanding ultimately up to the projected maximum length of 680m.

The main objective of the contracted services is to provide supervision of design engineering and construction works as well as administration of the work contract in a manner to ensure quality of the construction works, within agreed time for completion which is 81 months.

„Work Contract” is Design and Build Contract for Zagreb Container Terminal Pier Construction, between the Client and the contractor elected under tender no. RGP-CW-050/08-ICB, based on Conditions of Contract for Plant and Design-Build (FIDIC, Yellow Book, 1^st edition 1999, prepared and copyrighted by FIDIC. The elected contractor is joint venture of Italian companies: Grandi Lavori Fincosit S.p.A., Nuova CO.ED.MAR S.r.l. and Impresa Costruzioni Giuseppe Maltauro S.p.A.
