Department store reconstruction and construction

The department store is located at Ilica 32 in Zagreb. Before the reconstruction the department store occupied the street building with yard wing (ground floor + 2 elevators + attic) and yard building (ground floor + 3 elevations). The yard was covered with the roof – steel grid covered with plastic slabs – erected at time of construction of the yard building.

Reconstruction and building of annex to the existing buildings was done in phases, tending to keep the spirit and design of the basic project in the scope of the new content, while the yard was integrated into inner space of the department store. The yard got the glazed roof, three glazed elevators and a new four flight staircase thus making the yard a lounge of the department store. Attic spaces that were not used were redecorated and turned to shop areas.
